Questions
What owners ask us first.
- How much does a boat clean cost in Sydney?
- An external clean is priced on your boat's footprint — length times beam. For a 40 × 13 ft power boat on Sydney Harbour it's $499 for a Standard clean, $831.67 for Detail, $1,632.22 for Premium and $2,744.50 for a Restore, all including GST. An enclosed flybridge, a RIB or trailer boat, or waters outside the Harbour add a set percentage, and the builder shows it before you book.
- Do you come to my marina or mooring?
- Yes. We bring everything to your boat, at her berth or on her mooring, across Sydney Harbour, Middle Harbour, Pittwater, Cowan Creek, the Hawkesbury, Botany Bay and Port Hacking.
- How often should my boat be cleaned?
- In Sydney's salt and sun, we recommend a maintenance wash every month and a full detail every three to four months. Regular cleans keep that rhythm for you, and the more often we come, the less each visit costs.
- What's the difference between a wash and a detail?
- A wash takes the salt and dirt off: deck, hull, stainless and glass. A detail goes further: non-skid scrubbed white, marks and rust spots removed, stainless dried by hand, under the cushions, the hatches, the bimini. You can see every item, level by level, in the builder.
- Can I pause or stop regular cleans?
- Yes, any time. Give us at least 48 hours' notice before the next visit to skip it, pause or stop, and that visit isn't charged (or, if it has already been charged, it's refunded). A visit cancelled with less notice is charged. Just reply to your confirmation email, or call or email us.
- What's the difference between regular cleans and a care plan?
- Regular cleans are one service on a rhythm, paid visit by visit. A care plan brings several services for your boat together, each at its own frequency — say a wash every month, a polish once a year, the annual lift and antifoul and the engine service — added up for 12 months and paid in one equal monthly amount, under a simple written agreement.
- What can go in a care plan?
- Most of what your boat needs over a year: regular washes and interior cleans, polishing, the annual lift and antifoul, the engine service, and regular checks of your boat's condition and equipment, so small problems are found early. Tell us what's on her list and we'll tell you what we can include.
- How is the monthly amount worked out?
- We price each service for your boat, multiply it by the number of times it's done in the 12 months, add everything up and divide by 12. Your agreement lists every service, how often it's done and what it's worth.
- What if she needs something that isn't in the plan?
- We quote it separately. It doesn't change your plan unless we both agree to it in writing.
- Can I end a care plan early?
- Yes, with 30 days' written notice. A plan is based on the work done, not the months that have passed, so we then compare the value of the services already delivered with what you've paid and settle the difference either way, and a cancellation fee set out in your agreement may apply. Big jobs like the annual lift can fall early in the year, so read the agreement before you sign: it has the full details.
- Do I have to renew at the end of the year?
- No. The plan can be renewed if we both agree, and we'll tell you about any price change at least 30 days before it ends.
